At Hook Lane Primary School, our values are much more than words on a wall. We have adopted a set of Learner Qualities that we believe are the essential ingredients for success, not only at school but throughout life.

These qualities underpin everything we do, helping our children to become confident, curious, resilient and independent learners who are ready to embrace new opportunities and challenges. They are at the heart of our school motto, Encouraging Fearless Learners, reflecting our commitment to developing children who are willing to take risks, embrace mistakes, and grow through every experience.

To ensure these values are truly embedded in our school community, we have also named each of our classes after one of our Learner Qualities. Every child belongs to a class that celebrates an important characteristic of successful learning, reminding them every day of the attitudes and behaviours that will help them thrive.

Our Learner Qualities are:

Together, these qualities inspire our children to be ambitious, lifelong learners who approach the world with curiosity, determination and confidence. By living these values every day, we are truly Encouraging Fearless Learners.
